Overview:
Loch Shiel Cruises operates a classic boat that accommodates up to 45 passengers for scenic tours on Loch Shiel in the beautiful Highlands of Scotland. We operate from April to October 6 days a week. We are dedicated to providing a top-notch experience for our guests, combining stunning views with exceptional service.
Job Description:
As a Crew and Tour Guide at Loch Shiel Cruises, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our cruises and providing an unforgettable experience for our guests.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Mooring and unmooring the vessel, ensuring it is ready for each cruise.
- Cleaning and preparing the boat for passengers, maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and presentation.
- Reading a prepared commentary via a microphone to provide interesting and informative insights during the cruise.
- Serving items from the bar to guests, offering a selection of beverages and snacks.
- Assisting passengers with embarking and disembarking the boat safely.
- Distributing binoculars, blankets, and ponchos to passengers as needed to enhance their experience.
- Following the captain's orders and assisting in emergency procedures if required.
- Assisting in briefing passengers before each cruise, providing important information and safety guidelines.
- Spotting wildlife and pointing out points of interest to enhance the guest experience.
- Creating a warm and friendly atmosphere on board, maintaining the high standard of service that has earned us lots of 5-star reviews.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a customer service or hospitality role is preferred but not necessary.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with guests of all ages.
- Knowledge of the local area, wildlife, and history is a plus but we will help you learn.
- Ability to work well in a team and follow instructions from the captain and management.
- First aid certification and boating experience are advantageous but not required.
- Flexibility to work varying schedules, including weekends and holidays.
- Physical stamina to walk or stand for extended periods of time during tours.
