Job description

Major Crime Investigative Support provides law enforcement with operational information, advice and support in relation to Major Crime and vulnerable and intimated witnesses. The Crime Teams' primary focus is to support investigations through both written and verbal advice, investigative suggestions and, where required, access to the deployable resources of the National Advisers/Specialists.

The post holder will mainly support front line officers investigating Major Crime by discussing their requirements and offering potential investigative suggestions including key and current legislation, policy and published guidance; tactical options and evidential opportunities; established and/or emerging good practice and their own knowledge/experience.

In addition, the post holder will provide in-depth advice and guidance on a range of forensic specialists/experts identified from the NCAs’ Experts Advisers Database (EAD), with the objective of adding value to a criminal investigation and maximising opportunities to assist internal and external partners, in accordance with current, relevant legislation.
