About the Role:
- Work in our busy criminal department established in Barnsley for over 40 years.
- Cover all aspects of work, from police station attendances to Magistrates Court advocacy and Crown Court litigation.
- Handle a caseload of work within the Magistrates Court and provide high standards of service to both private and publicly funded clients.
- Attend clients at police stations, provide advice and advocacy within the Magistrates Court, and act as Litigator on Crown Court cases.
- Liaise with clients, apply for Legal Aid, and manage a full caseload efficiently.
- Service your Duty Solicitor Rotas.
- Qualified solicitor with current practicing certificate.
- Duty solicitor / CLAS accreditation.
- 2+ years PQE.
- Confident user of technology.
- Advocacy experience at Magistrates Court dealing with GAP/NGAP/trials and youth court work.
- Previous experience as an LAA supervisor or willingness to become one.
- Higher rights of audience or desire to achieve them.
- Previous experience with LAA audits/budgeting.
