Devon Air Ambulance is seeking to recruit a Critical Care Doctor (Specialty Trainee 4 and above) to join our experienced Patient Services Team.
Salary: NHS Doctor contract pay scale, pro-rata
Hours: Zerohours contracted. Minimum 2 shifts per month.
Location: Airbase - Exeter and Eaglescott (North Devon)
Duration: Permanent
The Role
We have a new vacancy for a Critical Care Doctor (ST4+) to join our Patient Services team at DAA. The Critical Care Doctor supports with the safe, effective and caring delivery of our clinical service through patient care, and teaching and mentoring.
For every patient they encounter, our Critical Care Doctors deliver high quality, safe, effective and compassionate prehospital clinical care as part of a team responding on our Air Ambulance helicopters, or on a Critical Care Car, in accordance with Devon Air Ambulance Trading Company Limited (DAATCL)’s policies and procedures.
By supporting research and audit they will provide support to the Clinical Leadership Team in developing our service, and through delivery of education, practice supervision and facilitation of Clinical Governance, they will ensure our clinical team are safe, effective and current in their practice.
The Candidate
The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to contextualise highly complex and highly sensitive information, while maintaining patient confidentiality.
To be a Critical Care Doctor at DAA, you will need excellent working knowledge of CQC guidelines with experience of the safe delivery of emergency anaesthesia, emergency surgical interventions and advanced airway management.
The Critical Care Doctor will be a GMC Registered Doctor, Specialty Trainee 4 and above, with experience of working in a Critical Care providing Pre-Hospital Emergency Medicine role, preferably as part of a HEMS Service. Candidates must hold a full UK driving licence with a maximum of 3 penalty points.
