Lead Radiographer CT Band 8a
1.0 WTE - 37.5 hours per week
Kingston Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is looking for a dynamic and highly motivated individual to lead the CT Service. This role will be suitable for someone who is looking for a new challenge as CT Lead Radiographer and has a proven interest in managing a CT service, teaching, and clinical governance.
As CT Lead Radiographer, you will
  • ensure the efficient and effective provision of all aspects of the CT service; managing activity, resources, people, and information to achieve agreed levels and standards of delivery.
  • be expected to maintain high standards of care to patients and staff and will also be working towards service improvements where applicable.
  • Lead by example ensuring a close working relationship within your team.
The CT department provides a full range of diagnostic studies and is equipped with 2 Siemens Definition edge multi-slice scanners and a GE Revolution Apex CT Scanner. There is also access to the scanner at the Community Diagnostic Centre at Queen Mary’s Hospital Roehampton. The service currently sees approximately 55k examinations per annum and is located within a newly built area.

  • The post holder will be responsible for providing managerial and clinical leadership within CT in the Radiology department, coordinating, and managing a comprehensive service across Kingston Hospital and its associated community/mobile CT sites.
  • The post holder will provide leadership and direct line management to CT staff with support from the Lead Radiographer and Lead Clinician.
  • The post holder will be responsible for General line management functions including recruitment, retention of staff within CT, staff appraisal, competency assessments and management of sickness absence and leave entitlement.
