About the role:

To curate, undertake research into and make publicly accessible the Ancient Levant and Syria collections in support of the Museum Operating Plan and all relevant Museum strategies.

Key areas of responsibility:

  • To create object records and up-grade the documentation of the Ancient Levant and Syria collection
  • To lead on up-grading the documentation of the Ancient Levant and Syria collection
  • To make the Ancient Levant and Syria collection, and knowledge about it, publicly accessible via publication, digital, display, broadcast and public lectures
  • To assist with enquiries from the public in person, in writing, by telephone and via e-mail

About you:

  • MA/MSc (or equivalent) in ancient Syro-Levantine history and archaeology
  • Experience of research and publication in the areas above; excellent IT skills.
  • Experience of working with archaeological material
  • Open, effective communicator with good spoken and written English
  • Ability to work as part of a team
