About the role:
To curate, undertake research into and make publicly accessible the Ancient Levant and Syria collections in support of the Museum Operating Plan and all relevant Museum strategies.
Key areas of responsibility:
- To create object records and up-grade the documentation of the Ancient Levant and Syria collection
- To lead on up-grading the documentation of the Ancient Levant and Syria collection
- To make the Ancient Levant and Syria collection, and knowledge about it, publicly accessible via publication, digital, display, broadcast and public lectures
- To assist with enquiries from the public in person, in writing, by telephone and via e-mail
About you:
- MA/MSc (or equivalent) in ancient Syro-Levantine history and archaeology
- Experience of research and publication in the areas above; excellent IT skills.
- Experience of working with archaeological material
- Open, effective communicator with good spoken and written English
- Ability to work as part of a team
