Are you interested in joining the Curatorial team at York Castle Museum? We are seeking a part-time, fixed term Curator of Social History who will care for and share the York Castle Museum's designated, nationally-significant collection.
The post will report into the Senior Curator of York Castle Museum and will lead on a rationalisation project of key areas of the Social History collection in order to make the collections more dynamic and reflective of York and Yorkshire's rich history. You will have experience of ethical disposals policies and standards, collections management procedures and an solid understanding of the challenges and possibilities of Social History collections. You will be creative, adaptable and willing to support research and create content that will speak to York Castle Museum's audiences.
You will be part of a small curatorial team at York Castle Museum but will also bring your expertise in Social History to the wider public engagement, curatorial and collections team at York Museums Trust responsible for developing engaging public programming through exhibitions, digital content and events.

Salary: £16,246.80- £18,762.60 per annum (£27,078-£31,271 fte)
Contract: 22.2 hours a week, Fixed Term until March 2025
