Job TitleCurriculum Leader
Team: Learning Services Worcestershire
Salary: £30,343 to £32,110 per annum (depending on skills and experience)
35 hours per week
Location:
Worcester
Permanent

The Role
Do you have passion and talent for educating learners with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities?

Are you committed to helping young people thrive and achieve their career potential?

Would you like to explore teaching in a new context, using your experience to benefit the Worcestershire community?

If this sounds appealing, we would love to hear from you!

At Learning Services Worcestershire, our ambition is to ensure all learners receive outstanding teaching, learning and skills in high quality safe and accessible learning spaces. Our services work proactively to address the barriers to learning and achievement experienced by some of the most vulnerable in our communities.

Due to the recent expansion of our Young Adult Learning service, we are delighted to invite applications for an experienced Curriculum Leader to deliver our new Supported Internship programme.

This is a new Young Adult Learning collaboration which will enhance employment opportunities for young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities in Worcestershire, with a particular focus on accessing roles within the NHS.  Initially, the role will be based in the Warndon area of Worcester and will focus on a group of 10 interns in the Worcester area.  However, we are a county-wide service and all staff support our county-wide work so there is a potential for the role to develop in future.

The successful applicant will demonstrate excellent teaching and learning practice in both classroom and work-based environments.  As the Service’s key representative within a partnership approach, the ability to influence the direction of the programme and liaise sensitively between different professionals across multiple organisations will also be important to secure the best possible outcomes for the interns.

Excellent interpersonal skills are also vital, with the ability to adapt communication as well as subject content to the needs of those you are working with. You will also have experience of supporting learners to overcome barriers such as those presented by health, learning needs or personal and economic circumstances.

Please note this is a Senior Officer post for which a full teaching qualification at level 5 or above is required (see Person Specification for further detail).  However, as potential applicants for this work-based education role may have relevant experience underpinned by qualifications from other but related specialisms, we encourage anyone interested to speak to us about qualification equivalence.  A more detailed description of our Service and the work of the team is also attached for your reference.

Informal discussions to help you learn more about what we do and/or arrange a visit prior to applying are warmly welcomed.  Call 01905 728537 and ask for Beccy Fraser.
