Customer Adviser

Smart Money Cymru Community Bank is a progressive and growing financial cooperative providing affordable, ethical finance and banking services to communities in Wales. Smart Money is based in Caerphilly with additional offices in Newport, Blackwood, Tredegar, Aberdare, Brecon and Llandrindod Wells.

Because of our growth, we are looking for an additional Customer Adviser, full-time OR part-time, to join our Customer Services Team based primarily in our Newport office. If you are looking for part-time work then we offer flexibility around hours available.

You will be joining a dynamic, professional and supportive team.

Salaries are reviewed every year in Spring and Autumn to take account of cost of living and performance. You can expect your annual full-time equivalent salary to start at £22,011 and rise to around £23,000 (full-time equivalent) by April 2025.

You will provide a high level of customer service within Smart Money Cymru’s branch office in Newport city centre as well as supporting the overall growth of Smart Money Cymru through new account and loans processing, marketing activities and promotion of our services.

• Cashier duties – serving members mainly at the Newport branch office or other branches as required from time-to-time
• Dealing with queries and telephone enquiries, assist in resolving any issues/problems
• Correspond to members by letter, email and text as required
• Help to raise public awareness about services offered by Smart Money Cymru
• Deal with incoming and outgoing mail including emails
• Provide accurate information in accordance with legislation and Smart Money Cymru policies
• Accurate processing of member withdrawals and transfers
• Accurate data processing using various software
• Accurate maintenance of filing/scanning systems
• Processing loan applications
• Processing corporate membership applications and accounts
• Dealing with deceased members’ accounts
• Assist in training volunteers, looking after service points and other volunteer services
• Any other duties that could be reasonably expected in this post and in the best interests of Smart Money Cymru
