Arla Foods is currently recruiting a pivotal role within our UK Customer Agriculture team. As a Customer Agriculture Manager, you will play a key role in working closely with customers and farmers to enhance welfare and sustainability on UK farms. Your responsibilities include implementing animal welfare standards programs and sustainability initiatives (CSP) nationwide, managing farmer engagement on behalf of customers, and building robust relationships with both farmers and customers. Additionally, you will oversee the careful management of mass balance and segregated milk pools, ensuring recruitment of sufficient farms while minimizing any downgrade.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage the set up of new pools including recruitment, management of third parties, farm allocation and targeted farmer engagement where necessary
  • Manage the aligned farmer groups including pool meetings, customer reporting, quality assurance and issues management on farm which relate to customer standards or CSP projects (together with third parties)
  • Work with existing partner customers and commercial teams to develop an annual joint agriculture plan which meets their needs and enables progress on sustainability and animal welfare (project pipeline ideation, reporting on programme success, ongoing programme development)
  • Support the commercial team to engage new and prospective customers on the potential to come onto new programmes
  • Ensure regular communication with agriculture team at customers and Arla customer teams to maintain customer support, trust and perception of value for money of the programmes.
  • Lead customer specific projects if and where appropriate and capacity allows.

Key responsibilities

  • Experience working directly with farmers in an agricultural role is essential to success in this position
  • We are also looking for someone who has commercially focused experience working with UK retail customers and food service customers
  • The ideal candidate for this role will have a passion for sustainability innovation delivery
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to connect with our farmer owners, retail / food service customers and Arla Foods stakeholders.
  • The ability to bring people on the journey with you, manage multiple projects and delegate actions and responsibilities to others

Please be aware this role includes travel to farms and customers across the UK
