Customer Quality Engineer (Night Shift) Monday to Thursday 9pm- 7am Automotive Manufacturing Hays Engineering is partnering with an automotive manufacturer for their operation in Birmingham to appoint a Customer Quality Assurance professional to join their nights operation on a permanent basis. Your new role As the newly appointed Customer Quality Assurance team member for their night shift operation, you will review and coordinate customer concerns and complaints in accordance with customer requirements. You'll manage containment and stock, related to customer concerns and support the commercial operation in Customer Quality matters.
Typical Accountabilities:Quality Control of non-conforming product & service Raising and tracking of concerns about factories and sub-suppliers in relation to customer claims. Ability to travel to manufacturing plants and customer and supplier locations in Europe as required Raising, issuing and management of 8D/5Y reports for the non-conforming product raisedProduct traceability via internal systemManage containment and inspection for customer related claimsUpdate external portals for management for claimsUnderstanding and reading of customer drawingUnderstanding of measurement equipment Weekly and monthly quality reports, in line with KPI's Managing recharges and updates of the tracker Reporting on customer line stops, complaints, rejected parts and poor quality parts Customer scorecard management Involvement in and working towards continuous improvement and relevant projectChair customer visits and meetings and report on any quality related issues
About You
Initially, you will start your employment on a day-based Monday to Friday pattern, due to training and on-boarding. Following the initial period, you will transfer onto the permanent Nights structure for the Customer Quality Assurance position. You must be able to commit to Monday to Friday 9pm-7am hours, on-site in Birmingham (4 nights per week). Y ou will have first class communication skills, be able to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, internal and external stakeholders, as well as lead meetings relating to quality issues and attend to customers on site, as required. You will have seamless problem-solving skills; inquisitive and seeking out resolutions that are beneficial to parties, both internally and externally. You will have extensive experience in 5Y & 8D methodology and reporting achieving quality outcomes. Ideally, you will hold some form of Engineering qualification - ONC level and above.You will be computer-literate, including a Microsoft suite and a variety of internal and external databases for quality management and complaints. A UK Driving Licence is essential, as is the right to work in the UK.
