An exciting opportunity has arisen for you to join us as a customer facing Quality Engineer within the Submarines Performance and Improvement (P&I) business unit. You will be a key member of the quality team acting as a point of contact for New Build related Quality issues.

As a Quality Engineer, you will take a lead role in facilitating customer Quality boards, ensure customer escapes are managed from ownership to final closeout, support customer and regulatory audits and provide leadership and support for managing our Quality frameworks.
As a Central Quality Engineer, you will also support business issues where the demand for support is need or delivery of centrally led improvement projects that will result in a step change in quality performance.

What you will be doing:
You will be a point of contact for all New Build customer related quality issues, you will also:
Ensure the customer is protected following quality related issues.Govern customer related quality activities.Identify opportunities to improve Submarines quality and lead or implement plans to deliver those improvements.Support enterprise wide initiatives that deliver the customer need.Ensure adherence to all relevant processes and procedures.Coordinate Quality data reporting and share best practice across the programme team and the wider Quality community.Liaise with the Site Office, Customer, Delivery Business Units and Support Functions with regards to Quality.

Experience of working in a Quality or Business Improvement role with extensive experience of investigation and auditing.You will have a strong customer focus, ability to effectively influence and challenge appropriately to manage customer expectations.Recognised as an individual who can use both formal channels and informal networks to achieve success.Able to lead cross-functional and multi-skilled teams.Experienced in the use of the 8D/NCR problem solving process.Internal audit experience is preferred, whether this was gained in conducting process compliance audits or internal audits.Proficient user of the SAP quality modules is preferred.

To work for Rolls-Royce Submarines you need to hold a Security Check (SC) clearance without any caveats to that clearance. Rolls-Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if you don't currently already have this in place.
Due to the nature of work the business conducts and the protection of certain assets, you must hold a UK nationality. Any dual nationals will require additional scrutiny and background checks prior to commencing work with RRSL.
