The primary responsibility is managing all customs procedures in accordance with HMRC guidelines, in particular movements to and from the UK Continental Shelf. This will include interaction with various stakeholders including 3rd party shore base logistics provider, offshore materials staff, suppliers, and internal colleagues and you will coordinate the required logistics support for imports and exports. The role will also support the Inventory Lead with the management of EnQuest inventory and non-inventory holdings.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES (key tasks/services for which incumbent is responsible)

  • Expediting and verification of customs data on delivery paperwork – communicating requirements to external suppliers and liaising with offshore material co-ordinator
  • Processing customs clearance confirming all necessary data and documents are available for different regimes including RGR, OPR, AU, Excise, Dual Use
  • Managing Customs Control documentation, including but not limited to;
    • Outbound and inbound manifest checking, amending
    • Reconciling Import / Export logs against HMRC MSS reports
    • Bill of Discharge reporting
    • Tied Oil reporting
    • Customs entry audits
    • Post VAT Accounting reconciliation with internal tax team reporting
    • Monthly Customs entry amendments
    • Preparing and supporting of external audits as required by HMRC
  • Managing logistics quotations and organising all imports & exports
  • Managing EnQuest inventory and non-inventory holdings by
    • Maintaining accurate stock records for all inventory (location, quantity and certification) to ensure stock is fit for purpose and available for use when required
    • Optimising the levels of stock inventory via the regular MRP / Auto generated purchase requisitions / purchase orders run
    • Analysing and challenging new inventory requests
    • Managing vendor held inventory movements on a ‘real time’ basis
    • Reconciling stock audit results as per the defined procedure
    • Providing cover for the Inventory Lead when required
    • Adhering to EnQuest’s Safety, QA and training standards
    • Complying with the Inventory Management processes and identifying opportunities for improvement
    • Raising business awareness and improving the profile of the Inventory function
  • Data imputing, creating, and updated reports on various spreadsheet formats, plus uploading of documentation
General Requirements
· Proficient in Microsoft Office suite specifically Excel
  • Ability to adapt to considerable interaction, via phone, email and in person, with suppliers and colleagues
  • Detail oriented, able to multitask and meet deadlines
  • Self-motivated, able to work in a team and independently
  • Experience in Import / Export

Essential:
  • Knowledge of basic principles of customs control in the oil and gas industry
  • Knowledge of customs legislation in the UK Oil and Gas sector

Desirable
  • Working knowledge of warehousing and Inventory Management, preferably in the Oil & Gas industry
  • Working knowledge of Maximo, SAP or similar system, particularly the Inventory / Materials Management modules
