Cyber Security Engineer
Salary: £65k dependent on experience

As a Cyber Security Engineer, you will spearhead the enhancement of Cyber Security infrastructure, addressing critical gaps, and ensuring the resilience of the systems. We are seeking an individual with technical expertise in Cyber Security frameworks, risk assessment methodologies, and incident response procedures. Your role will be pivotal in fortifying defences against emerging cyber threats and ensuring the integrity of the digital ecosystem. This role will be on site with our client in the insurance sector.
Key Responsibilities:
Cyber security Infrastructure:
- Engineer and implement an advanced Cyber Security infrastructure, tailored to the unique requirements of the organisation.
- Contribute hands-on expertise to ongoing projects, e.g., Varonis and Beyond Trust, providing technical insights and engineering support.
- Lead the migration to MS Defender for Cloud and Sentinel, leveraging technical proficiency to enhance the Cyber Security posture.
Threat Assessments and Mitigation:
- Conduct detailed threat assessments, employing advanced methodologies to identify vulnerabilities and potential threats to the systems.
- Develop and execute strategic plans for mitigating risks, employing a proactive approach to pre-empt security breaches.
Incident Response Excellence:
- Assume a leadership role in rapid incident response and recovery efforts following a security incident or data breach.
- Conduct thorough forensic investigations, identify root causes, and implement technical measures to mitigate damages and prevent future occurrences.
- Serve as a project Subject Matter Expert (SME), ensuring the technical integration of Cyber Security measures into day-to-day operations.
Financial Loss and Downtime Mitigation:
- Leverage technical expertise to minimise downtime, reduce financial losses, and protect the company's reputation.
- Collaborate with technical teams to implement preventive measures, employing cutting-edge technologies to mitigate the overall impact of security incidents.
Proactive Technical Vulnerability Management:
- Proactively address technical security vulnerabilities, employing advanced tools and techniques to minimise the likelihood of incidents.
- Collaborate closely with technical teams to ensure a holistic and integrated approach to Cyber Security.
Skill and Experience:
- Extensive experience in designing and implementing advanced Cyber Security infrastructure.
- Proficiency in MS Defender for Cloud, Sentinel, and other relevant technologies.
- In-depth technical knowledge of risk assessment methodologies, incident response procedures, and forensic investigation techniques.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in a dynamic technical environment.
