Cyber Security Manager Job Purpose The Cyber Security Operations Manager plays a crucial role in protecting our networks and customer data from cyber threats. This position will shape the company's cybersecurity capabilities by using threat hunting, metrics, and automation to enhance response to evolving threats. Key Responsibilities Team Management: Oversees a team of cyberSecurity Operations personnel and manages third-party service providers. Financial Oversight: Shared budget responsibility for cybersecurity tools and outsourcing. Incident Response: Leads incident response initiatives, establishes/improves response plans, conducts post-incident reviews, and runs simulation exercises. Tool Management: Manages cybersecurity tools and promotes automation (SOAR) solutions. Reporting: Produces security metrics dashboards and reports. Strategy Alignment: Contributes to and implements UK Power Networks' Cyber Security Strategy. Leadership: Mentors team members, acts as a role model, and occasionally deputizes for the Head of Cyber Security and Technology Risk. Qualifications Experience: Minimum 5 years leading Cyber Security Operations teams. Education: Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent. Certifications: Industry-recognized certifications like GIAC/GCIA/GCIH, CISSP, CASP or SIEM-specific certifications. Technical Knowledge: Understanding of security technologies (SIEM, SOAR, firewalls, etc.), adversarial tactics, frameworks (Mitre ATT&CK), and incident response procedures. Additional Desirable Skills: Experience with log analysis, forensics, managed security services (MSS), and the regulated energy sector.
