An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Cyber Security Team Lead to join my Client’s team based in South Tyneside. As Cyber Security Team Lead you will be responsible for the Cyber Security Analysts and Officers in designing, developing and maintaining the technical Cyber Security capability of the Business.

The Business is currently modernising their environment and going through a series of big transformation projects, from moving away from all legacy systems and implementing cloud technologies, to a full network refresh.
The Role
Our Client is looking for an experienced Cyber Security Team Lead who has previous experience in leading or managing a team of Cyber Security Analysts.
You will be:
- Forward planning future Cyber Security capabilities and requirements to support the delivery of the D&IT Strategy.
- Investigating and implementing security capabilities, implementing monitoring and investigation in line with control requirements.
- Providing analysis and risk assessments of emergent threats and vulnerabilities to support in the continued security and resilience of the Business.
- Managing allocated Cyber Security resources.
- Provide technical direction and leadership to other D&IT teams contributing to the Cyber Security posture within the Business.
About You
In addition to having experience in leading a team, you should also have experience with SIEM and CrowdStrike as endpoint protection. You should also have knowledge in the following areas:
• Technical design and architecture
• Planning and delivery of service improvements
• Knowledge of current and emerging threats and common attack methods
• Monitoring security events and analysing logs and using security tools to investigate/contain threats
• Able to understand security advisories, identify actions and direct remediations
• Solid analysis skills and ability to think critically
• Operating system administration (Microsoft Windows, Linux)
• Secure OS configuration and knowledge of common security events
• Network fundamentals (e.g. TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Proxies)
• Network security (e.g. encryption, segmentation, network access control)
• Understanding of zero trust architecture design principles
