Working within a bustling atmosphere as part of passionate team, Visitor Experience are at the forefront of giving exceptional experiences across the property.
Hours: Full time 37.5 hours per week. We are at our busiest when the public is as its leisure, please expect to work every other weekend and some national holidays. You'll be required to work every other weekend and the occasional late evening and early morning during events.
Contract: Fixed term contract until March 2025
Internally you'll be known as an Active Outdoors Development Co-ordinator.
Reporting to the Senior Programming and Partnership Officer, you'll be working with members of the Visitor Experience team to support delivery of the property Cycle Hire programme. You'll also be responsible for recruiting and growing a team of volunteers to support Ickworth’s wider Active Outdoors programme. You'll lead on outdoor site hires and develop partnerships with organisations that encourage people into the outdoors.
The team welcomes over 300,000 visitors a year to this Treasure House and its rolling Suffolk landscape. Together with our volunteers we bring exceptional service and have authentic conversations with every visitor.
As the Active Outdoors Development Co-ordinator, you’ll be an ambassador for the Trust sharing our values and working as a team to link everything we do back to our cause. You will lead on a new cycle hub component, which was successfully launched in May 2022. You will co-ordinate the maintenance, servicing and running of the Cycle Hire programme as a core offer for Ickworth. You will support the team in training and promotion of the cycle hub, as well as grow a team of volunteers to support the operation. You will spend time both operationally supporting visitors at the cycle hub and have time off-rota to support other elements of growing the Active Outdoors programme, such as cycling groups, developing partnerships, and other site hire practicalities.

- some experience in planning and delivering sports activities / events which encourage people’s connection with the outdoors
- experience of working with external and internal stakeholders
- experience in supervising volunteers and an understanding of the volunteer journey
