Ensuring children, young people and families have absolute confidence in how we manage their personal data is a key priority for Kent County Council’s Children, Young People and Education (CYPE) Directorate. That’s why we’re looking for someone passionate about Information Governance, with strong communication skills and a proactive approach, to drive the data protection agenda and ensure staff in CYPE can confidently deliver their services whilst fulfilling IG requirements.
You’ll be the lead within CYPE for all Information Governance matters, to ensure managers and service units within the directorate can access timely and accurate advice and guidance and understand how to apply UK GDPR and DPA within the context of children’s legislation and statutory guidance.
You'll use your professional expertise and experience to lead in this area and ensure we’re driving best practice and meeting our statutory obligations. As part of this you’ll manage the development, implementation and review of information and guidance to support CYPE compliance with Information Governance legislation and council policies including privacy notices, Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and our Record of Processing Activity (ROPA).

This role will involve hybrid working (Invicta House Maidstone and home working).
