Job description

Quest Employment are recruiting a Kitchen Supervisor/ Team Leader to join a foodie team and step into the exciting world of food retail. We’re all about serving up fresh, delicious food, prepared daily in our Birmingham Kitchen, and delivered direct to stores in London and Birmingham on the same day. Perfect for customers on the go or those looking to enjoy a tasty breakfast at home. 

As a Kitchen Supervisor, you’ll be at the heart of the action, ensuring the smooth operation of our Birmingham Kitchen.  

Your responsibilities include: 

  • Team Leader: Support and lead your team, providing guidance, coaching, and assistance to meet high standards and service daily orders.  
  • Security and Compliance: Maintain the security stock, premises, and team members by strictly adhering to established procedures.   
  • Performance Metrics: Achieve and exceed Key Performance indicators (KPIs) to drive success.  
  • Food Preparation: Engage in basic food preparation, including chopping, measuring, and mixing ingredients and baking a delectable range of items such as Croissants and Bagels. This role also includes preparing finished products for sale, by wrapping and labelling products, ensuring high standards for eye-catching products. 
  • Stock Management: Complete daily stock checks, stock counts, take deliveries of fresh ingredients and liaise with Head Office on daily stock levels and ingredient ordering for the Kitchen. Take full responsibility for stock management.  
  • Cleanliness and Organisation: Maintain a clean, tidy appearance of the kitchen during all operational hours.  
  • Opening and Closing: Execute opening and closing routines, control systems, and meticulous record-keeping. 
  • Food Safety: Uphold high levels of personal hygiene and adhere to food safety regulations to guarantee customer well-being.  
  • Product Knowledge: Develop an in-depth understanding of product offerings.  
  • Support to Kitchen Project Manager: Assist the Kitchen Project Manager in various tasks essential for Kitchen operations.

  • Experience: Previous catering or retail and Team Leader/Supervisory experience. Strong  
  • Quality-Driven: Able to maintain high standards in food quality and meet business targets,  
  • Flexibility: Willingness to adapt to varying work hours and days.  
  • Food Safety: Holds a Basic Food Hygiene Level 3 certification
