Job description

The NHS Counter Fraud Authority (NHSCFA) is the national body responsible for all matters relating to the prevention, detection and investigation of economic crime across the NHS. Further information about our work and annual plan for delivering this is available on our website.
Our Data and Analysis Specialist manages a comprehensive information management service in support of all directorates of NHS CFA and external clients of the Information Analytics Unit, responding to requests for Data and information from a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
As a manager leading a team comprising of Data Analysts and Senior Data Analysts, they are responsible for the delegation of tasks to achieve the requirements of the Business Plan, with additional expectations of fostering and developing skillsets for each member of the team. This necessitates defining appropriate methodologies, providing guidance on approach, maintaining oversight of outputs to uphold quality whilst managing competing deadlines in a dynamic work environment. This role is a fixed Term Contract until end of March 2025 with the possibility of extension pending funding.

To provide support in delivering NHS CFA’s business plan objectives.
Development and maintenance of appropriate strategies, policies, standards, procedures, development of SOP’s, and practices across the whole organisation to ensure the delivery of NHS CFAs Analytical needs.
Managing and undertaking complex statistical analysis including machine learning techniques requiring accuracy, attention to detail and frequent, prolonged periods of concentration.
To analyse, investigate, and resolve complex statistical and analytical issues and clearly explain service issues to a wide range of internal and external staff including the Senior Management Team, Local Counter Fraud Specialists, Directors of Finance, and other stakeholders to support and provide guidance.
Introducing including migrations, adapting, and improving systems to input, store and disseminate information used in statistical analysis e.g., via electronic online tools or paper format.
We have offices based in Coventry, Newcastle and London and offer flexible, hybrid, office and home-based working. In addition to the advertised salary working in the London area will attract High-Cost Area Supplement where appropriate. Communicating analytical and statistical matters to other statistical and non-analytical/statistical professionals, offering advice, and persuading them on statistical techniques to be used.
Providing ongoing engagement and support to other Directorates within NHS CFA and external agencies.
Investigating research and development to support future business needs e.g., pilots, evaluation, and trials of new technologies or horizon scanning activities.
