They are embarking on a major digital transformation to transition their learning, examination and certification processes from the classroom to a digital platform and are building a new team of talented & passionate technology professionals to deliver this major change initiative.
An experienced Data Architect is required to define the data strategy from scratch, assess and select which platforms to use, architect the solution (inc. policies & procedures) and establish an environment that is ready for machine learning. You’ll need the following:
- 10+ years’ experience in software development and Data Architecture
- Experience designing modern data environments from scratch
- An understanding of the pitfalls & benefits of a variety of leading data platforms & technologies (both open source & vendor led)
- An in depth knowledge of Microsoft development tools and platforms (inc. Azure data products and big data technologies)
- 3+ years delivering in an Agile environment
- Experience working with large datasets at scale
- Experience in design, build and delivery of data warehouse and analytics platforms, data lake or data acquisition platforms, batch based ETL pipelines and orchestration tooling, stream based data processing, event sourced systems
- Excellent understanding of data modelling, SQL and NoSQL databases
- Excellent data and system analysis skills
- Experience working with both structured and unstructured data, data contracts and serialisation technologies
- Good knowledge of non-functional drivers for design
- Good knowledge of API design and implementation
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to influence at board level
Remote (90%) & Leicester (10% remote). £650-£700 per day (Outside IR35), 12 months
