Data Centre Operator (Backup & Monitoring) – Liverpool/Hybrid - £38,205 - £44,264

The Data Centre Operator will be responsible for assisting the day-to-day management of the Data Centre operations, including, installation/move/decommission of hardware, asset management, enforcing security policies and managing visitors, internal and external.


You will be a self-motivated, passionate and enthusiastic individual, adding to the already established team, with the capability to work both independently and collaboratively.


You will work closely with both the Data Centre Manager and the Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Manager to ensure all administrating, monitoring and backup of services are working effective and efficiently.


This is an amazing opportunity to join IT Services, as they embark upon a new strategy to deliver a new TOM, which will result in the delivery of a number of significant digital & technology initiatives. This new model will result in huge investment within both IT Services, and the department itself, as they move to a modern, collaborative working space.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Installing, configuring, maintaining and decommissioning servers, storage devices, network equipment and other hardware components used in the Data Centre.
  • Monitoring servers, storage devices, networking equipment and other hardware components to ensure they function efficiently.
  • Assist with diagnosing and troubleshooting problems with servers, storage devices, networks, power supplies, cooling systems etc, to maintain optimal performance.
  • Administrating, monitoring and reporting of the backup and recovery service working closely with the BCDR Manager to ensure all systems are configured for backups as required.
