Job description

As a Software Engineer within The National Lottery Community Fund, you will contribute to delivering quality software solutions.  Using Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) and Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) you will be involved in the configuration, management, and development of bespoke software.  Each Software Engineer reports to the Software Solutions Manager, who reports to the Senior Head, Systems and Governance.
This team is responsible for configuration of packaged software, in-cloud, and bespoke software development. The team deliver solutions to explicit and implicit customer needs, as part of the Systems & Governance team, ensuring the most effective solutions are proposed and developed, that are pragmatic and appropriate to the organisation, delivering the maximum benefits in the shortest feasible timescale.
A typical day can include:
- Building features into the Fund Digital Application Portal
- Creating new Funding application forms
- Prototyping new ideas and designs
- Integrating SaaS and PaaS systems into IT systems
- Maintaining and developing various other solutions managed by the team essential to day-to-day working.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience using ASP .NET Core MVC 
- Working knowledge of SQL
- Great communication skills
- Confidence working independently or in cross-directorate teams.
Knowledge of Azure platform, experience with source control (Git), understanding of accessible web content and a working knowledge of unit testing are a bonus.
Interview Date: W/C 5th February
Location: We have a hybrid approach to working, work pattern and location will be agreed with the successful candidate. The role can be based at any of our UK offices, these are Belfast, Birmingham, Cardiff, Exeter, Glasgow, Leeds, London, Newcastle and Newtown.
There would be an expectation to travel regularly to Birmingham or Newcastle for team meetings

Essential:
1) Experience with C# .NET (MVC) & Visual Studio

4) Understanding of building accessible web content
