About this opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for you to join us in our Data Governance and Privacy team, where you'll help to transform our Reporting and Insight provision for Consumer Lending. We would love for the right candidate to join us on our journey to build a diverse, highly skilled workforce. Our Data Office team strive to enable our Consumer Lending teams to trust and use their data, helping them to make informed decisions and provide better customer outcomes whilst reducing risk.
This is a great opportunity for you to delve into the world of Data and get a flavour of all things relating to Data Management. You’ll be working in a collaborative environment and supported by our Data Governance Manager, engaging with colleagues across the Consumer Lending Data Office, sub-Business units and Platforms.
As a Data Governance Specialist, you'll be involved in analysing and reporting against key data metrics which Consumer Lending has committed to deliver. Designing and implementing dashboards and MI to support Platform prioritisation to implement data controls, remediate data issues and successfully achieve the GEC metrics. Supporting Consumer Lending to deliver the Group’s Data Management agenda.
What you’ll be doing
You'll be leading on key activities including:
  • Creating and maintaining a ‘one-stop-shop’ reporting repository for key Consumer Lending business stakeholders (Power BI).
  • Finding opportunities to automate MI across the Data Office.
  • Supervising the Data management plan, ensuring all changes are handled through the change request process.
  • Undertaking data analysis to support Data goals e.g., Data Quality remediation, risk and control improvements and change adherence to policy compliance via DSoC and/ or PRIA processes.
What you’ll need
We’re looking for a self-starter, who is highly motivated, with the ability to learn quickly. You’ll demonstrate a real drive for working closely with key partners, utilising a good understanding of data, the sources and how it flows, in order to build insight which drives action.
You're confident and articulate and will have:
  • Good analytical and data visualisation skills in Power BI and Excel. With experience combining datasets from varied sources.
  • Experience of creating departmental Reporting and dashboards. Translating analysis into insight using appropriate medium to convey the story in a manner non-technical audience can understand and use.
  • Attention to detail and ability to think outside of the box, to provide analytical solutions to business problems.
  • A good variety of technical and process improvement skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • The ability to prioritise tasks and manage your time optimally to meet deadlines and achieve goals
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
And any experience of these would be really useful:
  • Understanding of the Group’s Data Policy Standards and Principles.
  • Experience of using JIRA
  • Additional data analytical tooling e.g., Power automate, Tableau, SQL and experience of working with large datasets.
  • Organisational awareness.
  • Some experience of the Data and Tech Academy
