Data Modeller Engineer-
Salary: £66,861 - £80,000 + excellent rewards package
Location: Manchester
Hours: Full - time
Working Pattern: Hybrid, 40% (or two days) in an office site

About the role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Data modeller and Engineer to work on the Core Banking System which aims to support around 30 million customers and 60 million accounts.
You will be part of Core Banking unit in Consumer Relationships Platform working in the Vault Banking Products lab. The lab is focusing on building new core Banking Platform using cutting edge cloud based technology. The platform that will support servicing our customers through multiple channels and will enable the bank to create new innovative products for our customers.
As a Data Modeller and Engineer, you will be:
- Given a rare opportunity to lead the design of a new System of Insight for the bank’s Core Banking Platform
- You will be defining data model for the System of Insight across multiple customer products to ensure extensible design to grow Vault Banking Platform and accommodate various business requirements
- You will be making sure the data model is designed to comply with the bank’s data products strategy
- Working with the most modern technology to deliver innovative solutions for our customers
- Working in an agile environment, alongside colleagues from both LBG and third party companies, both on and off-shore
- Creating opportunities for your own learning and growth, as well as sharing finding with your peers
What are we looking for from those who apply?
The successful candidate for the Data modeller and Engineer role will be able to demonstrate experience in building data products in banking domain, ability to work independently and to mentor junior team members including quality standards. The candidate will need to have must have skills as well as some of highly desirable skills and to demonstrate ability to learn new technologies.
We’re looking for enthusiastic, proactive and dedicated engineers who are keen to make a difference and deliver at speed.
A must have skills:
- Proven & demonstrable experience in Data Modelling covering Data models for time series databases
- Experience working with online transactional processing systems
- Curated data vs raw data concepts
Highly desirable skills:
- Understanding business context of banking domain
- Knowledge of GCP Big Query data components and implementation
- ETL(extract, transform and load) tools
- SQL scripting language - ability to create complex queries and stored procedures
- Data analytics
- Big query performance and optimisation
- Database security and encryption
