Role Summary
This role is part of the global GCRLS Data Protection Office taking responsibility for all operational elements of the Data Protection team including management of data events and data subject right requests.
Core Duties/Responsibilities
- Processing of all data events and data subject right requests (data subject access requests (DSARs) and erasure requests) delivering in line with relevant data privacy legislation and regulatory timescales.
- Promote a positive culture of Data Protection globally across the EQ group. Providing support and guidance to the business regarding the application of the regulations including online and face to face training.
- Gather data to analyse, redact and produce reports as appropriate.
- Respond to all Law Enforcement requests received and liaise with external parties as required.
- Review and manage Data Loss Prevention incidents ensuring any risk is mitigated to EQ or its clients through timely identification, containment, investigation, reporting and resolution.
- Ensure all ICO (Information Commissioners Office) registrations and payments are kept up to date.
- Assist with any client questionnaires or general Data Protection queries received internally or externally.
- Maintaining all Data Protection requests on the GRCLS platform LogicGate and management of group DPO mailbox, supporting the wider DPO team as required.
Skills, Capabilities and Attributes
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following experience, skills and behaviours:
- Understanding of GDPR and the UK Data Protection Bill. Awareness of US privacy laws or Global privacy landscape would be advantageous.
- Experience of working within compliance or financial services is desirable.
- Excellent IT skills, including use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Nitro-Pro and Adobe.
- Good analytical and problem solving skills.
- Must have a proactive nature when communicating with stakeholders and completing tasks.
- Must have strong communication skills, must be comfortable undertaking presentations to colleagues as required to embed a positive culture of Data Protection.
- Must have good attention to detail.
- Ability to work calmly under pressure to meet all deadlines including regulatory timescales.
- Able to self-organise, plan, multitask and work independently and be a team player.
- Able to work with discretion due to sensitive type of data.
This role will require additional security clearance (SC level) in order to work on sensitive accounts.
