Data Protection Coordinator
Hybrid working with site visits
The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Data Protection Coordinator to centrally support several different business areas from Corporate to hospitals on embedding the Data Protection strategy, including clinical services, operations, finance, human resources, marketing, procurement, IT and other business support functions, supporting the embedding of processes.
Duties and Responsibilities
Manage the DPO inbox and triage/escalate to the DPO as necessary-Advise on Individual Rights including SARs
Maintain the Corporate SAR and other related data requests Registers. Advise and support business areas on breach related incident management. Analysis and reporting on reviews central Data Protection related Registers (i.e.: Incidents, Risk, SARs etc) for themes, develop and disseminate applicable action plans for improvements
Assess and assist with developing and delivering, raising DP awareness initiatives and training to the Data Protection Leads and other relevant personnel to promote the requirements of their role
Provide support and guidance to business areas to embed the Data Protection by Design and Default, including DPIAs, Records of Processing Activities and updating SOPs and other relevant business considerations as required
Cover the Claims Register notifications and tasks in the absence of the Legal Team Claims Manage
What you’ll bring with you
Experience in assisting with the embedding of Data Protection legislation in a large organisation
Proven knowledge of Data Protection legislation and the General Data Protection Regulation
Experience in sharing professional knowledge to build capacity and capability within the business
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proven experience in managing stakeholder relationships
Ability to work independently, exercising good initiative and judgement
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines and targets
Proven time management, organisational and prioritisation skills
Experience in health or social care sectors
Experience in assisting with the embedding Data Protection legislation in a large multi-site organisation
Experience of delivering training
Experience in analysis and improvement plans
Essential Requirements
Educated to degree level or equivalent experience
Hold a relevant Data Privacy qualification or equivalent
