Are you passionate about Data Protection, compliance, and risk management? My client, a well-established legal firm, seeks a Data Protection Manager to join their dynamic team. As a hands-on professional, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring our organisation adheres to privacy regulations and safeguards sensitive information.
Your new role

  • Data Protection Compliance: Monitor and enforce compliance with Data Protection laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
  • Risk Assessment: Conduct risk assessments related to data processing activities, identifying vulnerabilities and recommending mitigation strategies.
  • Policy Development: Collaborate with legal and IT teams to develop and update Data Protection policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs): Lead PIAs for new projects and initiatives, assessing potential privacy risks.
  • Incident Response: Manage data breach incidents, ensuring timely reporting and appropriate corrective actions.
  • Training and Awareness: Educate staff on Data Protection best practices and promote a culture of privacy awareness.
  • Vendor Management: Evaluate third-party vendors for compliance with Data Protection requirements.
  • Records Management: Oversee data retention policies and practices.


What you'll need to succeed

  • Bachelor's degree in Law, Information Security, or related field.
  • Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) certification preferred.
  • Hands-On Approach: You're not afraid to roll up your sleeves and dive into the details.
  • Legal Knowledge: Familiarity with Data Protection laws, including GDPR.
  • Risk Management: Experience assessing and mitigating privacy risks.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly to diverse stakeholders.
  • Collaborative Team Player: Work closely with legal, IT, and compliance teams.
  • Attention to Detail: Ensure accuracy in Data Protection processes.
  • Problem-Solving: Analytical mindset to address privacy challenges effectively.
