We are currently working in partnership with a university based in the Manchester area, who are looking to recruit a Data Protection Specialist on a temporary six-week contract, which could potentially go on longer. The position is due to start immediately, and the daily rate on offer is negotiable subject to experience.
The ideal candidate will have experience handling DPIA’s and FOI’s, and desirability experience within the Higher Education / public sector setting.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
Acting as the lead point of contact for the University on all Data Protection/Information Governance matters
Undertaking Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIA’s) regularly and actioning new processes accordinglyHandling complex Freedom of Information requests (FOI’s) and Subject Access Requests (SAR’s), and liaising with junior Information Governance to ensure all requests are responded to promptly
Liaising with staff across the University on Data Protection in respect of different data breaches which may occur
Experience required:
Experience required in Data Protection
Experience handling DPIA’s and FOI’s
Working hours:
35 hours per week
Remote working – Attendance in Manchester once a week
