SalaryBackup Engineer - Low-Level Design

Location: Sheffield, UK - Hybrid. 2 days on-site in the office + 3 remote.
Hours: 37.5H per week
I am currently collaborating with a global consultancy company that is actively seeking a Backup Engineer to join their team in Sheffield, UK.
Ideally, we are looking for an individual who can initiate this project as soon as possible, although we can certainly accommodate a reasonable notice period.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in NetBackup v10 installation and configuration, preferably with Veritas certification. In addition, detailed and in-depth experience with Veritas Appliances, FLEX Appliance, and Data Domain appliances is required.
The successful candidate will possess extensive knowledge of SLP replication, OST integration with Data Domain storage platforms, and MTREE replication. They will demonstrate the ability to create comprehensive low-level design documentation, instructional materials, and effectively present technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Proficiency in Puppet and Ansible deployment across Windows and Linux platforms is essential, as is a strong understanding of networking technologies including VLAN tagging, network segregation, and Quality of Service.
Key Responsibilities:
Proactively identify and address issues with internal teams and external vendors.
Experience managing customer deployments exceeding 50,000 endpoints.
Support environments with multiple NBU primary server domains and hundreds of media servers.
Operate within controlled environments, adhering to strict change management and role elevation criteria.
Flexibility to work across time zones as required.
