The Role

As a Data Security Engineer, you will play a critical role in safeguarding sensitive information and ensuring the integrity, confidentially and availability of data.

  • Security Infrastructure: Design, implement, and maintain security infrastructure to protect data assets from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction.
  • Data Encryption: Implement and manage encryption mechanisms to secure data both in transit and at rest, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Access Control: Develop and enforce access control policies, ensuring that only authorized personnel have access to specific data and resources.
  • ·Incident Response: Develop and maintain incident response plans to quickly and effectively address security incidents, including data breaches and cyberattacks.
  • Vulnerability Management: Identify and remediate vulnerabilities in data systems, conducting regular security assessments and penetration testing to ensure robust security measures.
  • Security Audits and Compliance: Conduct regular security audits and assessments to ensure compliance with data protection regulations, industry standards, and organizational policies.
  • Security Awareness Training: Provide training and awareness programs to educate employees on Data Security best practices and ensure a culture of security within the organization.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, network administrators, and software developers, to integrate security measures into the overall IT infrastructure.
  • Security Monitoring: Implement and manage security monitoring tools to detect and respond to security incidents in real-time.
  • ·Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of security policies, procedures, and configurations.

Knowledge Skills & Abilities

  • Education: Bachelor's or master’s degree in computer science, Information Security, or a related field.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), or Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) may be required or preferred.

Technical Skills:

  • Experience in Snowflake data warehouse tool and/or certification
  • Strong knowledge of Data Security principles, encryption algorithms, and secure coding practices.
  • ·Experience with security technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and antivirus solutions.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automating security tasks.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze complex systems and identify security risks and vulnerabilities.
  • Communication Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively convey security concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Problem Solving: Effective problem-solving skills to address security incidents and vulnerabilities.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail to ensure the accuracy and effectiveness of security measures.
  • Team Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and coordinate with various departments.
