Job description

A prestigious organisation is seeking a temporary Database Administrator to join their team base in Central Cambridge. As the Database Administrator, you will be required to support and maintain software applications and the systems infrastructure, including MS Dynamics 365, which is core to the operations of the business and is used extensively throughout the organisation.

This is a full-time position working 36.5 hours a week (hybrid working will be available). The assignment is to start as soon as possible and will run until July 2024.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Act as the routine contact point, receiving and handling requests for Dynamics and related database applications support
  • Investigate problems in the Dynamics database and other systems, processes, and services
  • Identify and resolve issues with Dynamics and related database applications including ClickDimensions and PowerBI
  • Use the Dynamics database management system to collect performance statistics and usage data
  • Carry out agreed database maintenance and administration tasks
  • Generate reports and dashboards
  • Work with the Senior Database Administrator and the Compliance team to ensure that the highest standard of Data Protection is maintained
  • Engage with colleagues to develop workshops and digital training materials for systems and services

Technical Capabilities

  • Thorough understanding of relational databases
  • Proficiency with scripting tools
  • Proficient in writing complex functions
  • Expert with formulas/macros in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience using Dynamics and other Power Platform tools

  • Microsoft SQL

Provision of reports, documentation, advice, and training

  • Produce formal technical documentation

  • Present 'in-house' training or demonstrations occasionally
