Job description

Database Administrator - Up to £50k - Flexible Working

I am currently partnering with a Software Company based in Chesterfield that works within the music industry to create a brand experience for some of the biggest-name brands around the world. They are now looking to add a Database Administrator to the team.

You will be joining as the first data professional, where you will be working alongside the development team, helping with database tasks. Your role will include supporting and maintaining the functions of the database, working with installations, and tuning of the SQL Server, ensuring that there is a recovery system in place in case of disaster and working to uphold the security and integrity of the database in line with company policies and procedures.

This role entails a blend of database administration, data analysis, and support tasks. You will adeptly handle SQL Server queries to extract and manage data from various sources including relational databases, APIs, and Dynamics 365. Additionally, you will execute data governance tasks to ensure database integrity and utilize reporting tools like SQL Server Reporting Services, Power BI, and Excel to generate customized reports for business needs.

Essential Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 3 years of hands-on commercial experience in SQL Server 2008 R2 and above
  • Strong competence in writing SQL queries and scripts
  • Proficiency in tools including SQL server Management Studio, Reporting, Integrations, Data Tools, Power BI and Excel.
  • Knowledge of data structures, schemas, encoding, and formats including XML and JSON is required.
  • Comprehensive understanding of database technologies, administration, performance tuning, data quality assurance, security, and software development.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the team as the first data professional, where you will work on supporting and creating new processes to shape the way data is used and visualised!

The office is based in Chesterfield and is flexible for this role with a requirement of a minimum one day a week in the office (during the training period this might be required more than once a week).

They are offering a salary of £40,000 - £50,000 (DOE), 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, flexible start/finish times, on-site parking and death in service (3x basic salary).
