Department Insights
The accounting department of RWE Supply & Trading GmbH (RWEST) deals with the accounting treatment of commodity-related issues in the context of RWE's global trading business, as well as the segment financial statements of RWEST.
Our sub-department Financial Statements & Central Services provides expertise for the whole segment regarding IFRS segment reporting and local statutory accounts, treasury operations and accounting data services.
Your future plans
Your new team “Data Services” is responsible for providing data and process automation solutions for all accounting teams within the segment.
As team member you are responsible for
- Supporting the data set-up for the monthly, quarterly and annual closing processes within commodity accounting.
- Preparing the monthly for realised and unrealised transactions of RWEST
- Supporting the team with ad-hoc data queries
- Participating in projects like migration to SAP S4/HANA or introducing new database interfaces
- Further development of the accounting IT environment
- Being a contact person for auditors
Your skills
- Relevant university degree
- Several years of experience with relational databases and MS SQL P/L
- Experience with VBA, Excel and Access
- First insights into the energy sector and basic understanding of how commodity markets work
- Experience of working with users to understand the problem statement, design, build and debug solutions
- Independent, structured, solution-orientated and analytical way of working
- Commitment and willingness to travel from time to time, ability and empathy to work collaborative in a team and flexibility
Advantageous
- Good knowledge of accounting principles
- German language skills
