Debt Fund Controller (Direct Lending) -OUR CLIENT is a highly reputable and award-winning, multi-national investment / asset management business who are focused on long-term investment solutions. They are now looking to hire an accountant / analyst who is seeking a step up to Fund Controllerto join their Private Credit Operations Team - Supporting all operational activities across different strategies including CLOs, Direct Lending, Loan Fund etc. the appointed Debt Fund Controllerwill take responsibility for all fund finance, investment operations support, deal support as well as support the launch of new investment vehicles.
THE ROLE of the DebtFund Controller will be responsible for:
- Managing and delivering all aspects of fund finance including NAV validation and reporting, loan administration and financial reporting, managing the day to day relationship and working closely with the external fund administrator.
- Cash and liquidity management.
- Providing support for the launch of new funds and credit investment vehicles.
- Deal / Fund tax structuring.
- Exposure to FX Hedging calculations and reconciliations.
- Working closely with the client service teams and external transfer agent to process subscriptions, capital calls, distributions and redemptions.
- Reviewing monthly performance information, to help senior management, analyse, attribute & comment on fund performance.
- Monitoring and management of tax filings / tax compliance / tax audits, supported by external tax advisors.
- Reconciling monthly reports, management and performance fee calculations, and other activity between the business and the administrator's records to ensure accuracy.
- Managing and maintaining relationships with external third-party vendors.
- Overseeing and coordinating the year-end audit process, reviewing year end and interim financial statements.
- Working directly with sales and client service teams, portfolio managers and external administrators and service providers, maintaining an open line of communication, to provide data as requested and to ensure it is accurate and timely.
THE PERSON and SKILLS requirements for the Fund Controller role:
- Experience in Direct lending, Credit or Debt Fund structures within operations or fund accounting / control.
- Part or recently qualified accountant or equivalent - (ACCA, ACA, CIMA)
- Experience of identifying efficiencies on different internal processes.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills and the ability to effectively summarize findings.
- Clear communication both verbally and in writing to internal audiences and external clients.
- Detail-oriented and highly motivated.
- Ability to work effectively to meet multiple tight deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key internal stakeholders including other business. lines and corporate functions across the organisation with a range of related third parties.
