Deep Sea Import Operator

Our client, a freight forwarder is looking for a Deep Sea Import Operator to join their office in Tilbury.

We require a dedicated, self- motivated and go-ahead import operational person for an office-based role that entails working as a key part of their successful team here in Tilbury.

The successful candidate will be capable of good liaison with our various customers, suppliers, and sub-contractors such as shipping lines, hauliers and depots.

They will have the ability to maximise profitability, whenever the opportunity arises and to engage with our customers to grow their support.

Ideally the candidate must have a proven successful track record of at least 3 – 5 years working for a small to medium sized freight forwarder.

This role would be suitable for someone with a quick brain, who will learn how to make the right decision in sometimes difficult circumstances.

A key requirement is the ability to express oneself well verbally and in writing .Excellent work presentation, spelling and grammar is essential. Good math skills are also required.

They will be reliable, punctual, and have a basic understanding of all forwarding operational activities and a basic knowledge of the Customs clearance process .
