Job Description
Delivery Driver overview:
As Delivery Driver you are responsible for the transportation of bikes and products across all Balfe's stores based from our Gatwick warehouse. This role offers a mixed opportunity of store deliveries and covering personal customer deliveries when required. You are expected to drive safely without speeding.
What you'll be doing at Balfe’s:
• Interact with Balfe's internal store staff and customers in a friendly and professional manner.
• Provide excellent customer service, answering question and queries as required.
• Delivering bikes to stores and customers when required, unloading at destinations.
• Collecting stock or goods to go to other stores or to be returned to head office.
• Keep accurate records of all deliveries to stores or customers and ensure all documentation is submitted to head office on time.
• Lifting heavy bikes and products.
• Driving safely at all times by following all laws and rules of driving to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
• Keeps company vehicle clean and ensure it is well-maintained, has fuel, oil and is ready to drive
• Communicates with customers by phone to update them of time of deliveries if there have been issues or changes to their estimated time of arrival
• Follows pre-planned route accurately without deviation from set course
• Carry out various daily administrative tasks as requested and deal with various forms of communication, including letters, emails.
Requirements:
• Minimum of one years' driving experience within 30-mile radius of Crawley
• Good communication skills, to ensure good relationships with colleagues and store staff.
• Ability to manage time and routes for a streamlined delivery experience.
• Strength to lift up to 50 pounds plus bending and twisting.
• Work well independently
• Open and transparent communication
• Familiarity with GPS devices or map apps
• Ability to be a team player, while also having the ability to work independently
