All About the Role
The purpose of this role is to carry out deliveries to surrounding area & related duties involved with the carriage of goods within a defined geographical area, ensuring full compliance to all Health and Safety procedures. This role is Monday to Thursday 7.30 am – 4.30pm. Friday 7.30am – 3.30pm
Specific tasks could include:
- To oversee the safe unloading of vehicles at customer premises.
- Ensuring Proofs of Delivery are signed & returned without delay.
- To check the load security & weight distribution according to latest safe working practices at the beginning and end of each shift.
- To ensure that the delivery vehicles are always maintained to Company standards in terms of reporting of any defects to the vehicle.
- Ensures vehicle is in safe condition, with daily checks correctly completed before use, & are operated in a safe manner.
- Manual Handling & Loading of material.
- Supporting the warehouse staff as and when necessary.
- Working in the warehouse as an operative – possibly around 30% of the working week.
- Adherence to all Health & Safety standards and legislation.

All About You
Essential Skills for the role:
- To hold a standard driving licence – With maximum 6 points.
- Previous experience in a warehousing or distribution business.
- Multi-Drop experience would be advantage.
- Ability to carry our manual handling and loading and work in the warehouse in this dual role or driver/Warehouse Operative.
Desirable skills for the role
Previous experience with overhead crane operation (although full training will be given)
Previous experience with Counterbalance fork lift truck operation (although full training will be given)
