Delivery Manager Role Overview

Team: Delivery

Team Size: 20

Location: UK based, Remote-First. We have an office in London (Monument) that you can use as frequently or as little as you like.

Salary Range: £85,000 - £90,000 per annum

Role Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Start date: As soon as possible

The Delivery Manager Role

As we continue our mission to be the market-leading underwriting software platform for agile insurers, we are excited to kick off the search for a Delivery Manager. Due to client growth, we are looking to bring onboard an additional Delivery manager to take responsible for the implementation of customer deliveries from estimation through to production implementation and handover, ensuring we deliver true impact and value to customers.

The role will oversee the end-to-end process of delivering Send's platform, including managing client relationships and ensuring customer satisfaction.

The role would suit an experienced IT Delivery Manager or Consultant who can balance rapid delivery across several workstreams, whilst maintaining quality and agreed scope. The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate experience in similar roles and be confident in managing customer and internal stakeholder relationships.

Our Funding

From 2017 to 2022, we bootstrapped our growth journey, transforming into a profitable and stable company. In November 2022, after a year of remarkable expansion in our revenue and team, we successfully obtained £9M in Series A funding to accelerate our expansion in the UK and US and our product development.

The Send Team

In the past year, Send has experienced remarkable team growth, expanding by over 50% to a team of 80+. Until the start of this year, our team was based in the UK and Poland. This year, we've taken significant strides towards establishing a global presence and now have team members across the US and India, all working collaboratively to be the market-leading underwriting software platform for agile insurers.

What You'll Be Doing as a Delivery Manager

  • End-to-End Project Management: Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of projects from inception to completion. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and high-quality project delivery.
  • Client Relationship Management: Act as the main point of contact between Send and clients during the implementation phase. Foster strong, collaborative relationships with clients, understanding their needs and ensuring satisfaction against pre-agreed deliverables within statement to work.
  • Scope Definition and Estimation: Work closely with clients to define project scopes, estimates and requirements. Provide accurate and realistic project estimations, considering resource constraints and timelines.
  • Resource Allocation and Team Coordination: Allocate resources effectively, ensuring optimal utilisation for project success. Coordinate with development teams, QA, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless collaboration.
  • Quality Assurance: Implement and oversee quality assurance processes to maintain high standards of deliverables. Conduct regular reviews and audits to identify and address potential issues.
  • Risk Management: Identify project risks and proactively develop strategies for risk mitigation. Address and resolve issues as they arise to prevent disruptions to project timelines.
  • Performance Metrics and Reporting: Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to project delivery and customer satisfaction. Generate regular reports for internal and external stakeholders, highlighting project status and performance.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives based on feedback and lessons learned from previous projects. Stay informed about industry best practices and incorporate them into project management processes.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Effectively communicate project progress, challenges, and resolutions to internal and external stakeholders. Conduct regular status meetings and provide updates to ensure alignment with project goals.
  • Budget Management: Manage project budgets efficiently, tracking expenditures and ensuring adherence to financial constraints.

  • Proven Project Management Expertise: Demonstrated experience in end-to-end project management, simultaneously handling multiple technical implementations across diverse customers.
  • London Market Insurance: Knowledge of the London and European insurance market, showcasing a comprehensive understanding of its nuances.
  • Exceptional Communication Skills: Outstanding communication skills to effectively engage with clients, internal teams, and stakeholders.
  • Leadership in Software Development: Proven leadership skills in navigating complex, technically demanding software development environments.

  • Agile Software Delivery Mastery: Track record of leading software delivery using Agile methodology, collaborating with global teams for successful outcomes.
  • Continuous Improvement Mindset: Ability to challenge the status quo and explore opportunities to enhance delivery capability, considering the client's culture and market position.
  • Effective People Management: Strong leadership in managing people, with a demonstrated ability to guide, motivate, and inspire highly productive, dynamic, and technically proficient teams.
  • Analytical and Diagnostic Skills: Possesses strong analytical and diagnostic skills, particularly in identifying and addressing technical risks, issues, and constraints.

Delivery Manager Interview Process

Our recruitment process for Delivery Manager role is a minimum of three stages:

Stage 1 - Intro call with our in-house recruiter, Liam (30 minutes) - This will cover your background, motivations and communication, along with a chance to get to know Send and the role better.

Stage 2 - Interview with our Portfolio Delivery Manager (45 mins) - This will be run by Jo McGlynn.

Stage 3 - Interview with our Chief Delivery Officer (30 mins) - This will be run by Tash Bond.
