We are seeking to recruit a Democratic Officer to join our Democratic and Election Services team on a Fixed Term basis for 12 months. In this role you will support the Council’s formal decision-making process through administration of Council and Committee meetings, which will include supporting the Chair, taking minutes, giving advice regarding the Council’s Constitution and the preparation of reports. You will also assist the Senior Democratic Officer with maintenance and development of the Council’s online committee management pages.
The successful candidate will have previous experience working in an administrative role. Experience working in local governement is desirable but not essential. You will have excellent communication skills with the ability to build a rapport with a wide range of people in a professional manner including those at a senior level and elected Members. You will also be able to effectively organise and prioritise your workload independantly to meet deadlines. Attention to detail and accuracy of work is essential to being successfully in this role as well as being competent in MS Office.
The postholder will be required to attend evening meetings. The post is politically restricted.
