Job summary
Berkshire Community Dental Service provides dental care for patients with additional needs including children, people with learning and physical disabilities and the elderly.
We are looking for enthusiastic and passionate Qualified Dental Nurses to join a professional team within the Community Dental Service within Berkshire. A suitable candidate will be expected to work in a variety of sites including clinics, hospitals and in the domiciliary setting including the below:
Langley Health Centre
Skimped Hill Health Centre
St Marks Hospital Maidenhead
Tilehurst Clinic
Upton Hospital
West Berkshire Community Hospital
Whitley Health and Social Services Centre
Main duties of the job
To provide comprehensive support to clinicians, throughout a wide range of different types of clinical treatments.
To support all patients as they undergo dental treatment responding to individual patients
needs, understanding how they may be affected by dental experiences.
To set up and prepare the dental surgery and ensure cleaned post surgery.
To ensure that the correct clean instruments and equipment, x-rays, record card and electronic records are available to the clinician prior to treatment.
Stock management of stationary, medications, utilities etc.
Maintain and update patients records within an efficient filing system, where required, and maintain data protection.
Booking patients appointments and advise patient needs using dental knowledge.

Who we are looking for:
A registered Dental Nurse with the General Dental Council
National Certificate for Dental Nurses or NVQ Level 3 in Oral Healthcare can be provided by candidate
Previous experience working as part of a dental team
Strong organised individual
Someone who is confident, has excellent communication skills and able to deal with sometimes emotional situations
An independent worker
Someone who is IT literate
Someone who can be flexible to working hours given appropriate notice
Candidate holds a valid UK driving license with car.
