An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Dental Nurse to join our team within the Lancashire and South Cumbria Dental Service. The post is part time covering maternity leave at Ringway Dental Centre, Preston.
We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated and caring individual, with excellent communication skills to assist in the delivery of Specialist Dental Care and Urgent Care, with a keen interest in treating patients with different needs. You must be a qualified Dental Nurse, have at least 2 years post qualification experience. You will have a good standard of education and the ability to work well within a team are essential. Ideally have extended duties to include sedation and radiography etc.
You will mainly work at the above clinic, however you may also be required to work at our other clinics, covering sickness and annual leave.
• To provide clinical and non-clinical support to Trust employed Dental Clinicians operating across Lancashire Care Dental Service footprint
• To be the link between service user and clinician
• To prepare the surgery for the service user and assist the clinicians in a range of dental treatments
• To assist in the provision of oral health care including the prevention and health education to individual Service Users who may have learning or physical difficulties, mental health illness, be medically compromised, dependent elderly or have a dental phobia.
• To undertake reception duties and carry out administrative duties as necessary

Specialist provision comprises inpatient child and adolescent mental health services, perinatal mental health and forensic services including low and medium secure care.
