Dental Technician

Full time, Permanent, 37 hours per week,

Band 4 - £31,396 to £34,980 per annum

About the Post

The principle role is to work as a technician supporting our new BSc (Hons) Dental Hygiene and Dental Therapy programme in our brand new dental education suite.

The successful post-holder will have responsibility for maintaining the facility, preparing the suite for student and third-party training sessions, and supporting teaching staff using the equipment. This will include ensuring that consumables remained well stocked, and that equipment is serviced and operational when needed.

Overall, this is an exciting opportunity to join and support a new area of the university, to work collaboratively with range of teams across the Ipswich campus and to develop a role that will be stimulating, varied, and rewarding.

About the Team

There will be close collaboration between the course teaching team, other members of the University’s technical and learning support teams, finance directorate and students. The role will also include collaborative cross university working in other areas to support student learning and the rest of the technical team; this may include the life science laboratories, health and wellbeing suite and exercise science areas.

There will be the opportunity to work with the teaching team and learning designers to create learning materials, protocols and digital assets as the role develops.

The successful candidate will be based mainly in the modern James Hehir Building on Ipswich’s historic waterfront and marina.

About You

We are looking for a forward thinking, conscientious and skillful person to join our new dental education provision at the University of Suffolk.

The successful applicant will need to be student experience focussed, organised, self-motivated, flexible and an excellent communicator. We are looking for a person with experience of dental practices, dental hygiene, and therapy equipment.
