1 x weekend per month: Saturday 8.00 to 16.00 & Sunday 08.00 to 16.00

The post holder will work as an integral part of the clinical ward / department team and to be responsible for the co-ordination of all patient facilities / services in the theatre area, ensuring a clean, safe and comfortable
The main element of the role is ensuring and supporting the delivery of cleaning, catering and minor maintenance, together with other specified tasks to meet individual patients’ needs, as determined by the department sister / charge
The post holder will work co-operatively with colleagues, as part of the team and perform additional duties as and when directed by the theatre clinical team, to enable nursing staff to undertake direct patient care.
Support and deliver infection prevention and control practices and procedures to maintain a safe clinical environment and support clinical staff to deliver safe and effective care

Knowledge, training and experience:

Health, Safety and Security Infection Control:
Ensure Infection Control Polices in relation to universal / standard precautions are applied at all
Promote the prevention of cross infection to and from all patients, visitors’ staff and the
Ensure that the cleaning standards meet agreed levels, and that any shortfalls are dealt with
Oversee and monitor the need for cleaning of equipment liaising with the Infection Control Team and Domestic Team and clinical team including the nurse in charge.
Following patient discharge, ensure bed areas/clinic rooms are cleaned appropriately and equipped in preparation for the next
Ensuring use of bed space checklist or other assurance techniques to evidence cleaning record.
Participate in health and safety practices that maintain personal safety and environmental safety
Participate in health and safety audit and preparation
Be a fire safety champion
Be an infection prevention champion
General Issues:
