Depot Manager

Our client is a leading courier business in Ireland, with a strong track record of growth and innovation are currently seeking a Depot Manager to support the Midlands Depot in Portarlington.

The Ideal Candidate:

• Minimum of 3 years of managerial experience.
• Proficient in English (spoken and written) to a commercially acceptable level.
• Skilled in computer applications including Excel, Email, Reporting platforms, and CRM systems.
• Strong awareness of safety protocols and practices.
• Familiarity with Irish local geography and areas covered.
• Previous experience in logistics is advantageous.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Oversee all warehouse resources to ensure consistent availability for smooth warehouse operations, adhering to high standards of process compliance, efficiency, and productivity.
• Meet personal performance plan objectives and coordinate warehouse shift activities to achieve targets and KPIs, reporting daily to the Regional Director on depot and courier performance metrics.
• Implement effective cost control measures within the warehouse operations.
• Identify training and development needs of staff aligned with business objectives.
• Manage and lead the warehouse team and Couriers to deliver exceptional On-Time delivery service, fostering a best-in-class operational environment.
• Ensure effective communication within operational teams and implement practices to enhance employee engagement in alignment with company values.
• Maintain a safe working environment compliant with Health & Safety and Quality Assurance legislation.
• Provide necessary support and resources to the team to achieve SMART objectives and maintain consistency with organizational ethos and values.
• Monitor operational systems to uphold delivery performance, warehouse processes, and integrity standards.
• Ensure cleanliness of the warehouse and adherence to effective warehouse schedules for vehicles.
• Maintain accurate vehicle records and report daily according to process guidelines.
• Conduct van audits in the morning and debrief routes at the end of the working day.
• Foster a positive culture, energizing staff and instilling a sense of pride in their work through effective communication and leading by example.
