As Depot Performance Analyst, you'll play an important role in our TrainCare Centre by analysing technical incidents, collating the data to produce trends and reports and to display the data in a simple way that's easy to understand.

About the role:

As the Depot Performance Analayst, you'll report into the Fleet Performance Manager, you will work closely with the TrainCare Centre teams to identify to pinpoint the root causes of technical delays and support with the identification of containment and countermeasures.

You'll keep accurate and up to date records of all delays and support both our TrainCare Centre teams and our Fleet Improvement Engineers. You'll present the data you collect daily, weekly and by period at performance meetings and daily TrainCare Centre meetings, while using it to help reduce the number of technical incidents.

The role will be primarily office based however there will be options to work remotely where suitable. There will be opportunities to travel across the Northern network to attend Periodic team meetings/ to familiarise yourself with all 5 of our TrainCare Centre’s.

Key responsibilities:

In the position of Depot Performance Analyst, anticipate a role filled with variety and complexity. Here's a sneak peek into the array of tasks that could make up your typical workday:
  • Ensuring the accurate attribution of technical incidents to the Fleet
  • Flagging and report on incorrectly trended technical incidents
  • Root Cause all Technical incidents on our respective Fleets
  • Representing Engineering during the arbitration and attribution for incidents affecting Northern Services, negotiating with relevant managers to resolve disputes
  • Support the Performance Improvement team in embedding lean techniques and On Time Culture.
  • Working alongside our other TrainCare Centre Analysts to produce Daily, Weekly & Periodic reports reflecting the status of our fleets.
About you:

You will have a proven background as an analyst with a strong skills in interpreting and reporting on statistical information.

We’re also looking for the following:
  • A good understanding of Excel & the following software: Tableau, Alteryx & Power BI or similar softwares.
  • A good understanding of - or be willing to learn - a range of lean tools and techniques
  • A good communicator and strong team player
  • Knowledge of IT systems, including extensive knowledge of spreadsheets, databases & Tableau.
  • Specific railway experience isn’t required but some knowledge would be useful
