Atlas Copco Rental UK – Depot Steam Operations Assistant

Our target markets include Oil and gas (up-, mid- & downstream), (petro)chemicals, the energy sector (nuclear, thermal & renewables) and the manufacturing industries. We are currently looking to recruit a Depot Steam Operations Assistant for the UK.

Job Purpose:

Support Atlas Copco Rental to set goals, targets and standards, whilst providing a professional, competent, courteous and prompt service. Support work colleagues by sourcing materials, parts and services required for the effective operation of the business.

Your role:

• Monitor steam service stock levels ensuring that required levels are maintained and stock rotated.
• Daily focus on steam assets, stores, stock items, consumables and service team requirements.
• Conduct annual stock checks, ensuring errors are both minimised and annually reduced.
• Support the overall AC Rental Steam business via effective communication with management and field service teams.
• Assist with business as, and when required, i.e. loading and unloading, and unit cleaning.
• Identify correct manuals, select relevant spares, and liaise with steam service administration. Assist Management and sales with client’s needs by sourcing parts, resources and materials
• Maintain test instruments, to ensure they remain in good condition. Record and maintain results.
• Follow fleet management system to control all assets and stock and all aspects concerning inspections etc.
• Assist in the ensuring steam hose management system is not only maintained but improved.
• Follow stock check procedure, house stock management and machine certification system.
• Support for contractors and visitors when in the depot.
• Adhere to maintain and comply with company QHS&E standards. Comply with all procedures and processes applicable to the company standards of ISO: 9001, IOS 14001, OHSAS 18001. Identify and nominate areas or processes for continual improvement.
• Conduct regular safety walks and risk observations.
• Conduct all your assigned duties in a safe and responsible manner.
• You will report to the Steam Team Leader.

To succeed, you will need:

The following requirements are essential:

• Worked within a service or depot environment/branch and have a proven record of accomplishment about operations and professional interpersonal skills.
• Must be a team player who sometimes goes beyond their own job role to assist in the execution of the department’s tasks.
• Willingness to develop core competence including servicing requirements such as oil and filter changes, and completion of servicing documentation.
• Ability to identify malfunctioning components. Understanding of the workings of mechanical systems.
• Ability to assess situations and take a holistic view, ensuring a safe working environment.
• Show consideration to the welfare of fellow workers, and demonstrate maturity and commitment regarding all matters of safety and the environment.
• Competent in the use of PC/computer equipment, i.e. data entry, typing reports, diagnostic equipment management systems, etc. Believe in the importance of good documentation control and management.
• An understanding or a willingness to learn of Steam products and/ or knowledge of Steam Boilers and associated equipment, desirable but not essential.
• Verify assumptions and information before accepting them.
• Able to solve standard problems in own work environment.
• Able to foster effective two-way communication.
• Formally recognised time served apprenticeship or relevant work experience
• City & Guilds / BTEC equivalent or industry-relevant qualifications.
• Full Clean Driving License.
