Deputy Chief People Officer / Director of People

Band 9 – £99,891 - £114,949 per annum

Location – Eastleigh, Hampshire (Hybrid working)

 

A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated HR professional to join our People team within the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Integrated Care Board (ICB). The newly created role of Deputy Chief People Officer / Director of People offers a unique opportunity to support HR improvements within the ICB and across our integrated care system and will play a  crucial role in the leadership and success of the People team.

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Integrated Care Board was established in July 2022 and is the statutory organisation responsible for setting the strategic plan for the NHS to deliver its part of the health and care strategy across the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Integrated Care System. The Integrated Care Board provides leadership and structure, acting as a system facilitator, leading on our strategic priorities and interventions, shaping the future system, planning, and executing on the common priorities.

The People function plays an important role in supporting the ICB to make a difference in the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Integrated Care System (HIOW ICS) and together with colleagues this post will be key to achieving this aim. 

The role of Deputy Chief People Officer / Director of People will be responsible for developing, delivering and implementing the HIOW People Plan, long term workforce plan, leading the system workforce transformation programme working in partnership with stakeholders across the Integrated Care System and have oversight of all People operations across the ICB and system.

The post-holder will standard set, report, plan, develop and implement an effective and efficient framework for delivering the key priorities of the People Plan. This key role will hold the professional leadership for all people practices within the People team as well and lead on the workforce transformation programmes for the ICS.

This role offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced HR leader to oversee the effective operational delivery and governance arrangements of the People Plan for the HIOW ICS, as well as deputise and regularly represent the Chief People Officer.

The successful candidate must have:

  • Experience of leading and managing multi-disciplinary People Services and Teams within complex environments
  • Board level experience of leading and delivering highly complex change and strategy development programmes in a politically sensitive and complex environment
  • Senior HR/ People leadership expertise gained in a complex healthcare or Public Sector setting.
  • Experience of successfully operating in and delivering priorities in a partnership environment
