Science and Engineering Research Council (SERC) of A*STAR promotes public sector research and development in the physical sciences and engineering. We would like to invite a highly motivated individual to join us in building and promoting Singapore"s R&D capabilities and innovation in the Advanced Manufacturing domain.
The Advanced Manufacturing Cluster oversees sub-domains such as:
- Smart manufacturing
- Advanced manufacturing processes
- Robotics
- Lasers & optics
- Metrology
- Aerospace
The Deputy Director/Senior Assistant Director will lead a small dynamic team to devise and implement programmes for achieving targeted scientific and economic outcomes. This includes, but is not limited, to the following:
- Engage in technology foresighting, strategic R&D planning and coordination to optimise the R&D investment portfolio and ensure alignment with national priorities.
- Engage and collaborate with various stakeholders, including Ministries, Public Agencies, research Institutes, Institutes of Higher Learning, and industry sectors, to garner support and resources.
- Execute key initiatives led by the Science and Engineering Research Council (SERC).
- Co-develop research proposals, monitor and provide oversight on the progress of ongoing programmes
Job Requirements
- A Bachelor Degree in a technical/engineering discipline, with at least 7-10 years of related work experience
- Track record of leadership and people development
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Result-oriented and resourceful, with astute planning and analytical skills
