Would you like to lead an amazing team of staff to develop our inspiring children?

Our children are looking for a new deputy head teacher as our current deputy head is going to lead a school of her own. We have loved working with her and send her away with our love and best wishes. While we say goodbye, we are excited to meet our new deputy head teacher.

Our Deputy Head Teacher will be responsible for inclusion. They will lead on the pastoral aspects of the school. This will include overseeing the specialist provision in the enhanced provision, leading on our behaviour curriculum through work with outstanding schools as part of the DFE behaviour hubs. They will lead the SEND and pastoral team across the school including: the SENDCo, the assistant SENDCo, the learning catalyst and the behaviour support teaching assistants.  They will also lead safeguarding across the school. This is a critical role in our school where many families have experienced trauma and many children have experienced ACEs.

The successful candidate will support the Head teacher in achieving the good Ofsted outcomes to which we aspire. Coaching and mentoring the staff team and delivering training to continue the development of all staff at the school. The role presents an exceptional opportunity for professional and career development and will undoubtedly offer a fast track route to Headship for the right applicant.

You will already be a deputy or experienced senior leader with a proven track record of leading a team and making rapid and sustained school improvement.

We are looking for someone who has continued to develop themselves through training or post graduate studies. You are likely to have the SENDCo award and an NPQ in leading behaviour or teaching. You will need to show leadership experience, the ability to manage change and the capacity to communicate a vision which inspires, grows and challenges the whole school community.

You will be supportive of our Christian ethos with a knowledge of leading RE and Christian Worship.

The Bishops CofE Primary Academy is a lovely place to work. Our staff work incredibly hard and care for each other. Our children are inspiring and a joy to teach. We could write all about our amazing school, but invite you to come and meet us to find out for yourselves.

If you would like to have an informal discussion and to look around the school with the Headteacher, Lorraine Ratcliffe please contact the school office 01842 754902 or email – [email protected]  to discuss the role further.

References may be requested prior to interview and may be contacted on receipt of your application form.  Please contact us to discuss this further if you have any queries.
